Hi I am an artist who strongly believes that fantasy is boundless. I love creative designs and unusual ideas. My aim is to reach the top levels of mastery in the creation of emotionally charged 3D Graphic Art. I have recently graduated this summer with a 2:1 BA(Honours) in 3D Modelling . During this degree I have studied a variety of mediums such as clay modelling, graphic design and life drawing to name a few.
My particular area of interest is in video game design, which I am most passionate about. I also like to challenge myself with my work, and in recent months I have entered a competition advertised on www.cartridgesave.co.uk/3DPrintCup looking for the most talented creatives, from all the corners of the UK,to put 3D printing to the ultimate test.
In order to be a successful candidate I had to ,create an original 3D character-complete with movable parts.Chainmail, gears, rotating drums -the possibilities was endless, and most importantly to explore the new technology delivered by MakerBot Replicator 2X (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8jx69iVl4c) that also is set as a gift for the overall most deserving winner.

The idea behind this competition was to explore something I have only once tried before and to meet 3Dprinting experts where I can address further questions in order to build a better personal portfolio that can be also found at www.luciantoma.co.uk.
As part of this challenge I am very happy to see my own digital Design as a 3D print and also I am looking forward to the wrap party on 07th July 2014 in Manchester where I can meet other open-minded designers and artists.

Over the next few days I will try to post few steps where you can see the overall process in order to understand how a 3D print is made from a digital concept.
Meanwhile if you want some more information about this challenge don’t forget to check

Thank you
